TIMES JAZIRAH, JAKARTA – As the anticipation for Eid Al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of Ramadan, builds up across Indonesia, Pertamina Patra Niaga steps forward with a reassuring announcement. The company pledges to maintain a steady supply of both Petroleum Fuel (BBM) and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) throughout the festive season, ensuring that consumers and travelers alike can celebrate without worry.

The assurance came from the Director of Engineering & Land Infrastructure of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Eduward Adolof Kawi, during his visit to the Bulk Liquefied Petroleum Gas Filling Station (SPBE) operated by Patra Trading in Ketapang, Kalipuro, Banyuwangi, East Java.

"For the readiness during Eid Al-Fitr 2024, overall stocks for BBM, LPG, and Aviation Turbine Fuel (Avtur) for flights are secure," Eduward stated.

In anticipation of increased demand from consumers and holidaymakers, Pertamina has strategically positioned tanker trucks at various gas stations (SPBU). Moreover, the company has deployed mobile response teams at select SPBUs, identified for their strategic locations and susceptibility to traffic congestion.

"Specifically in East Java, we have deployed 100 mobile response team members," Eduward added.

These mobile response teams are expected to assist travelers who may run out of fuel amidst traffic congestion during their journey.

Additionally, Pertamina has prepared an additional fuel quota of up to 15% during the Eid Al-Fitr travel rush in 2024.

"We have increased our reserves by 15%," Eduward affirmed.

In Banyuwangi alone, Pertamina reports a stock of 4,630 Metric Tons (MT) of LPG, equivalent to 1.534 million cylinders. During Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, the LPG stock saw an increase of up to 7% from the daily consumption of 507 MT or 169,000 cylinders.

As for gasoline (BBM), there is a stock of 26,000 kiloliters, which experienced a 15% increase during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr from the daily consumption of 1,600 kiloliters per day.

On the other hand, the stock of biosolar, a type of diesel fuel, stands at 17,300 kiloliters per day, witnessing an 11% decrease during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr from the daily consumption of 1,162 kiloliters per day. This reduction is attributed to restrictions on logistic truck movements from April 5th to 15th.

In summary, Pertamina's proactive measures ensure a smooth and worry-free Eid Al-Fitr celebration for Indonesians, as they travel to reunite with loved ones or embark on holiday adventures. (*)
