TIMES JAZIRAH, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Embassy in Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union (EU) is throwing its full support behind the upcoming Symposium America-Europe 2024. The Indonesian Student Association for the America-Europe Regionor PPID America-Europe recently held an audience with the Ambassador for Belgium, Luxembourg, and the EU at the Indonesian Embassy in Brussels (16/2/2024).

Mutaz Syahputra, the chairman of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Belgium, accompanied the delegation. The primary agenda of the meeting was the preparation for the America-Europe Symposium in 2024 scheduled to take place from July 17 to 19, 2024. The symposium aims to gather all PPI chairpersons from the 31 countries within the America-Europe region.

During the discussion, the Ambassador expressed his strong moral and material support for the symposium. This support includes assistance with calling visas, logistics, placements, and more. The calling visa support is particularly crucial for Indonesian students outside the Schengen area, facilitating an easier visa process for their participation.

The main topics to be addressed during the America-Europe Symposium encompass three key areas: Environment, Economy, and Geo-Politics. The Coordinator of PPI for the America-Europe Region expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for warmly receiving the delegation.

The symposium is expected to be attended by PPI representatives from America-Europe countries, providing a platform for them to share ideas and perspectives. The ultimate goal is to generate scholarly insights and recommendations that can be presented to the Indonesian government and stakeholders for developmental purposes.

Beyond its academic focus, the symposium also aims to foster awareness among Indonesian students about the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing challenges faced by students abroad. The initiative encourages a sense of readiness among Indonesian students to contribute anytime and anywhere, acknowledging and appreciating the sacrifices of our heroes in the pursuit of independence.

The Ambassador's endorsement and support play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the America-Europe Symposium. The collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy and PPI reflects a commitment to empowering Indonesian students abroad, creating a platform for intellectual exchange, and contributing valuable insights to Indonesia's developmental goals.

As preparations continue, the anticipation grows for a symposium that strengthens ties between Indonesian students in the America-Europe region. PPID America-Europe also hope that this will contributes meaningfully to the academic and socio-cultural landscape.(*)
