TIMES JAZIRAH, MALANG – The morning air in Wonosari Hamlet, Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang, feels humid yet soothing. A thin mist hangs over the vast tea plantations, inviting anyone to pause for a moment and breathe in the fresh aroma of freshly picked tea leaves.

Here, at Wonosari Tea Agrotourism, visitors find respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, while learning that a cup of tea has a long journey before it reaches the table.

Located at an altitude of 950 to 1,250 meters above sea level, this tea plantation is managed by PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII (PTPN XII) and has long been a favorite natural tourist attraction in Malang. The area offers endless green views, cool air, and a soothing mountain atmosphere.

This tourist spot is open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the natural beauty from morning until dusk. The entrance fee to the main area of the tea plantation is very affordable—IDR 15,000 on weekdays and IDR 20,000 on weekends.

Interestingly, the ticket can be exchanged for a cup of warm tea made from the plantation's own tea leaves, with a natural sweetness from honey. Just one sip is enough to warm your body and heart after a long journey through the green plantation.

Walking among the rows of tea trees is a simple yet captivating experience. Along the path, the aroma of soil and fresh leaves blends with the mountain breeze. Many tourists stop to take photos among the tea fields, taking advantage of the green landscape that is both soothing and Instagram-worthy.

Not only that, tourists can enjoy a variety of family facilities, such as a swimming pool, children's play area, horse riding, and a camping ground.

For those who want to broaden their knowledge, there are also educational tours to the tea processing factory, where visitors can see firsthand the process of picking and packaging tea leaves into ready-to-serve products.

Not far from the main area, there is one favorite destination that should not be missed: Kuneer Hill. To reach the summit, visitors need to walk for about 30 minutes along a steep and winding path. Although challenging, every step is worth it once you reach the top.

From the height, the tea plantation stretches as far as the eye can see, while in the distance, Mahameru Peak towers to the south and Mount Arjuno stands majestically to the west.

At Kuneer Hill, there is a tree house spot that is a special attraction. From the top of this tree house, visitors can enjoy a view reminiscent of the legendary film My Heart, which was once very popular.

Many tourists take advantage of this moment to record videos while singing along to songs from the film, creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere amid the cool mountain air.

"Although the journey to this hill is quite exhausting, it feels worth it with the beautiful view," said Fara.

To enjoy the beauty of Kuneer Hill, visitors are charged an additional fee of IDR 10,000. For those who are not strong enough to walk, there are jeeps available for rent that are ready to take you to the top, offering a more relaxing but still exciting trip.

For anyone seeking coolness, Wonosari Tea Agrotourism is more than just a tourist spot. It is a space to reconnect with nature, find peace, and learn that happiness can be as simple as sipping tea amidst the morning mist. (*)
