PAGARALAM – The local management of Mount Dempo had opened the hiking track for those hikers by February 23 2021. But before they open they area, they cleaned the track along with the local community.
The track is now clean and ready to be used by the hikers. The local management appeal everyone who pas through this track to keep it clean and no more littering.
Since it was being reopened, there has been lots of people sign in their name to hike. "We also renewed the sign board to the peak, and we planned to do the rest on March," Arindi SE, the manager in charge of registration post of Merapi-Dempo.
Arindi also said that all the hikers need to prepare their condition to be as good as possible. It's because the unpredictable weather the mountain has. There could be rain, mist or storm at anytime.
Arindi also appeal all the hikers to contribute in taking caring the shades on the post they prepared for the hikers. It's all for their own sake.
"For more safety, it is better if they brought first aid kits, some supply, rain coat, and prepare their condition. They also need to follow all the rule and restrictions which has been made by the management," he added.
All these facilities were to give the hikers more convenience and comfortable feeling during their time of hiking to the peak. With these clean look the management were hope to take the hikers to be more aware of environmental issues.
"We hope that Aliansi Dempo's hard work in cleaning the area could be appreciated by the hikers. And give them such an example to keep the track clean. And we hope that Mount Dempo will stay clean till the rest," he ended.(*)
