TIMES JAZIRAH, JAKARTA – Mount Argopuro tracking route has been acknowledged as the longest hiking track in East Java. This track will give yo the best experience to enjoy the beauty of nature on feet. Not to mention another advantages you get from this activities.

There are two tracks you could go for summit. One was via Baderan (Situbondo) with 5 days and 4 nights long of tracking. Meanwhile, the other one was via Bremi (Probolinggo) which only takes half way long to finish.  

The track through Baderan was the name the longest hiking track. It was around 63 kilometers long with a longer span of days to finish. However, the long distance make lots of people become more interesting to try the track. 

The Beauty of Cikasur Savannah before Summit at Argopuro

If you choose Baderan track, you will find Cikasur, a beautiful vast stretched savannah with lush green grass covering the area. It will need you around 1.5 days from the entrance gate to this place.

You can start from Perhutain post at Baderan village, Sumbermalang district, of Situbondo. The savannah was located on 2.200 meters above the sea level. during the colonial time this place was used to conceal by the local community from those invaders. 

The Dutch also use this place as a venue to land their aircraft during the war. As for now, it leaves only the history and the beauty of lush green grass all around. The local management also built a beautiful venue of wooden hut and rails for the hikers to take some pictures. 

For those who willing to go to this savannah but doesn't want to take a long journey you could get an ojek service by paying for IDR50 K to get to the track. But then you have to walk for around 2 kilometers to reach your destination. 

Approachable Ticket Price to Reach the Peak of Mount Argopuro

With the challenging time to summit, the ticket will only cost you for IDR20 K on weekdays and IDR30 K during weekend. With this ticket you will be taken to walk around 4 regency in those days. They are the Situbondo, Bondowoso, Jember and Probolinggo.

From Baderan Situbondo you will be led to the spring water which half of it was located at Bondowoso. Next you will be taken to the second water spring in Jember and last but not least to the beautiful Cikasur savannah. 

Next you will be taken through some national park and forest which located in Probolinggo till you reach the peak. However, either Baderan or Bremi both will give you such unforgettable experience of summit at Mount Argopuro. (*)
