TIMES JAZIRAH, JOMBANG – Not only Central Java which rich within its temple, Jombang of East Java also has amazing temple that worth the visit. This temple is so called at Arimbi Temple.

Located at Jalan Rimbi, Pulosari, Bareng, Jombang, Wast Java this temple becomes a key history of Jombang. This temple extends to 896,56 m2 with 13,24 m length, 9,1 m wide and 12 m tall.

"If it's not for the abrasion,  the temple could stand higher than it is now," Widji, one of the caretaker of Arimbi Temple said on S7nday (24/1/2021).

The local folklore said that the name Arimbi was taken from the name of Beem's wife, Arimbi. Arimbi was characterized as a beautiful giant at Ramayana story. The name of Arimbi was also connected to the mysterious tomb found next to the temple.

Here said, the tomb was belong to King Arimba, the brother of Princess Arimbi. Those name then were taken to name the local village where the temple situated.

The Arimbi temple eas firstly found by a foreign scientist named Alfred Russel Wallace long time ago. He was visiting the area to take two exotic local peacocks and several other exotic creatures of Mount Anjasmoro of Jombang.(*)
