TIMES JAZIRAH, MALANG – Weekends in southern Malang are now more exciting with the presence of Milkindo Green Farm, a family-friendly edutourism spot located in Tegalsari Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency. The refreshing rural atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, is one of the main attractions that welcomes every visitor.

Originally established in 1984 as a dairy cattle farm, the area was later transformed into an educational tourism destination in 2011, following the growing interest from families and school groups eager to learn more about livestock and dairy production.

Visitors can enjoy various hands-on activities such as milking cows, feeding goats, rabbits, poultry, and fish, as well as touring the farm to observe how dairy cows are raised and managed. For children, it offers a real-world experience to learn where the milk they drink every day actually comes from.

Beyond its educational value, Milkindo Green Farm also features several recreational attractions, including a waterpark, ATV rides, a mini train, flying fox, and outdoor playgrounds. Many families spend the entire day here thanks to the wide range of enjoyable activities.

The management also provides thematic educational tour packages covering livestock care, farming, and even fishing commonly chosen by schools and community groups to support outdoor learning programs.

Entry tickets are very affordable: IDR 10,000 on weekdays and IDR 15,000 on weekends. The destination is open daily from 08:00 until late afternoon. Even better, each ticket comes with a voucher redeemable for a cup of fresh milk produced directly from Milkindo’s own cows.

Not only does the farm serve as a tourism spot, but it also boosts the surrounding economy. Many local residents now work in the area or run food and souvenir stalls nearby, showcasing the positive economic impact brought by the development of this educational attraction.

Visitors can also bring home fresh milk, yogurt, and other dairy-based products as souvenirs before heading back.

Located 40–45 minutes from Malang City, the farm is easily accessible by private vehicle. However, coming in the morning or on weekdays is recommended for a more comfortable and spacious experience.
