TIMES JAZIRAH, MALANG – A good level of self esteem is the key of happiness said Dr. Elok Halimatus Sa'diyah M.Si., a psychiatrist as well a lecturer of Psychology Faculty of UIN Malang. 

"It affecting the level of success of some people. Lack of self esteem will make someone hard to reach their goal," Elok said on Tuesday (9/2/2021).

In addition, she also said that self esteem will help someone to be able to speak up their mind. They will also try to be better for they are not afraid if they were ever made mistakes.

Furthermore, she also said that lack of self esteem could lead someone to lose their identity. The person will be confused with what he is capable of and it will took a long time to find it without a professional help.

Those who have less self esteem will usually became bullies target.  They wont be confident enough to fight for themselves. And normally those with less self estee will only become a doppelganger. 

"Self esteem is psychological competence which has crucial implications on someone's life. It also the first competence ever thought to human from their parents," she added.

She also explained that this competence could be developed since they were born. To be confident when they smile, walk, or first talk was one of the easiest thing for example.

This phase will be their most crucial time that will decide how they will gain more self esteem in the future on their own. If the baby treated well, then it supposed to have a good self esteem in the future.

"Non qualified life and less happiness will be the most effect that someone has if they lack of self esteem," Dr. Elok Halimatus Sa'diyah M.Si., a lecturer at Psicology Faculty of UIN Malang ended. (*)
