This newest application from Telkomsel becomes an IoT based end-to-end solution which capable to monitor the location and condition of your products or assets, such as temperature, humidity, and air pressure in real-time.

The general manager of Telkomsel, Setyanto Hantoro explained that the Asset Performance Management is a support unit for digital transformation to realize Industrial Revolution 4.0 as soon as possible. Telkomsel commits to support the fourth industrial revolution by the application of IoT technologies in all industries.

“We realize that asset management is a crucial thing to do in business. For that reason, this application was designed to increase operational efficiency, optimize productivity, and if implemented nationally, it is capable to increase competitiveness for the whole country”.

He mentioned that the traditional monitoring system is relying on manually processed data which is inefficient, complex, and has a high risk of mistake. The newest IoT solution, the Asset Performance Manager is capable to digitalize the company asset monitoring system which produces real-time information on asset conditions.

Companies will be able to reduce operational costs, human error risks, and capable to maintain the quality of their products. The Asset Performance Management solution is suitable for any industries, such as the foods and beverages industry, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmacies, logistics, and manufacturers, with the use-case implementation of cold chain monitoring, inventory management, and shipment monitoring.

Asset Performance Management is a result of cooperation between Telkomsel and Roambee, an end-to-end IoT based asset monitoring service provider startup from Silicon Valley, US. Roambee is a foreign startup company that recently earned the investment money from Telkomsel Mitra Inovasi (TMI), as a Telkomsel’s venture unit.

Roambee has the role of Smart Gateway (sensor that directly connected to the Cloud) provider and Smart Beacon (a beacon that directly connected to the Smart Gateway to track both movable and immovable assets) as IoT sensors for Asset Performance Management.

There are 3 main elements in this solution, namely: 1.) IoT Sensors (Bees and Beacons), 2.) IoT Platform, and 3.) Online Dashboard. IoT Sensors use two different types of sensors to track both movable and immovable assets.

Both sensors can detect certain variables on their placement, such as temperature, light exposure, humidity, air pressure, and location in real-time. IoT Platform is an infrastructure for data processing applications, including Cloud and data analytics.

Online Dashboard makes it possible for all business owners to manage their assets on any devices everywhere, in real-time.
